At the national convention of the Libertarian Party last weekend, delegates from across the nation nominated Chase Oliver for President and Mike ter Maat for Vice President. Arkansas was represented by eight delegates (less than 1% of the convention attendees).
Members of the Arkansas delegation came into the convention with a variety of preferences for the nominations. As the field narrowed over seven rounds of voting for the Presidential nomination, the votes of the Arkansas delegation converged on those of the convention at-large: Chase Oliver for President. Our state’s delegates were also on board for the nomination of Mike ter Maat to be Chase’s running mate.
As a “new political party” in Arkansas for the 2024 election (again), the Libertarian Party candidates for President and Vice-President will appear on the ballots of all Arkansas voters.
