Earlier this month our long-term State Chair Gerhard Langguth announced his intention NOT to run for re-election in 2011. However, during an Executive Committee meeting Wednesday evening, Gerhard resigned his position, though almost a year remained in his term. Gerhard will remain on the Executive Committee as Parliamentarian and Previous Past Chair.
Immediately following Gerhard’s resignation, the Executive Committee appointed Rodger Paxton (previous First District Rep) State Chair. David Pangrac (previous Third District Rep) was appointed Vice Chair. Storm Nolan (previous Vice Chair) was appointed Third District Rep. I (Jessica Paxton) will serve as the interim First District Rep until a new representative can be elected at the next First District meeting.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Gerhard for his years of service and dedication to the ARLP. His knowledge of Arkansas Law and local politics is an invaluable asset to our party and we are grateful to have him continue working with the ALRP in an advisory capacity.
Congratulations to Rodger, David, Storm and Gerhard on their new positions! In the words of John Jay Myers (2010 candidate for National Chair, Vice Chair for Dallas County LP in TX), “Let’s get this party started!”
