NWA Pride Parade This Weekend (6-26)

Hey, ARLP folks in Northwest Arkansas:

Let’s try and get a few folks together to attend the NWA Pride Parade this Saturday, June 26th in Fayetteville! It would be great if we could have some of you out there with ARLP signs, showing our support for the LGBT community in NWA.  This is a wonderful opportunity to show Arkansans that we are active, we mean what we say and we are here to oppose government intrusion in our personal lives.

If anyone is interested, I can e-mail you a “Get the Government out of Marriage” and/or “Libertarians for Equality” sign to print and take with you to the Pride Parade. Please email media@lpar.org if you are interested.

The Grand Marshall for the Pride Parade will be Will Phillips. Does his name sound familiar? Will is the 10-year old boy who made national headlines last fall when he refused to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance in his West Fork, AR school. Will proclaimed that until there really IS liberty and justice for all Americans, regardless of their sexuality, he will remain seated during the pledge.

The parade will begin at 10am at the parking lot on Meadow St and Church Ave behind Tangerine. The parade route will turn from the parking lot, down Meadow, to East, then down Dickson and then to West, where they will have a rally in the Walton Arts Center parking lot. Please visit www.nwapride.org for more information or other upcoming events.

C’mon, NW ARLP’ers ! Let’s show some support this weekend at the Pride Parade!
