Well said, Gerhard. David lit the torch of that thing called the Libertarian Party. It is now up to us to carry that torch.

It is not a light torch... nor is it easy to carry sometimes, but it must be carried and lifted high... for David, Harry, Ron, and countless others... for our children... for our country.

Some people live long and uneventful lives. Others like David Nolan and Ron Crickenberger change the world in whatever brief moments they are among us. And a select few get miraculous second chances like Michael Badnarik. It is my belief that the Creator - God, who or whatever your religion may say it is - often calls us home early. However, as creatures of free will we are endowed with the right to reply with something like “aw shucks Daddy can’t I just play a little while longer” so long as we accept responsibility for whatever pain and suffering our failure to heed the advice may bring.

Human history is replete with names like Jesus of Nazareth or Joan the Maid of Lorraine. Their tragic deaths are often the spark that ignited revolutions. No one living today can ascertain the truth of those or countless similar stories from the past. However, it is a well established fact that legends have at least some basis in reality.

Faith tells me that David, Harry, Ron and the many other friends of Liberty I have known are now in a better place and time. If you believe human existence extends beyond mere biology and that there are such things as a soul and truly inalienable rights, then it becomes possible to imagine that death is neither a beginning nor an end. In my view when people like David “pass” they are replaced with new earthly souls that pick up the banner and march on.

So must we.

Of course, looking at the bogus data they get from "da gubmint" they are correct. I just get so frustrated (could you tell?) by the MSM swallowing this crap hook, line and sinker and then regurgitating it back for the "sheeple" to swallow hook, line and sinker. I mean folks have more important things to think about like football/baseball/basketball/insertsportnamehere and as long as the beer keeps flowing and they can watch their favorite sport all it well with the world.

We truly are a pathetic species.

Well, isn't that a relief! I guess my company will just go ahead and give us the 10% across the board cut we took a year and a half ago , plus our normal raise that we missed as well! Wonder if I should hold my breathe on that one?

Not only that, there are other "mosques" in the same area as this *new* one. This is more "divide and conquer" by THE SYSTEM. Keep the sheeple thinking there is an actual difference between the two political parties so that they keep voting the status quo. That way nothing really changes regardless of which party is the "majority".

Another right that is at play here is the right of contract. Apparently, Con Edison own 50% of this site and the group that wants to put the cultural center there has a lease agreement with Con Ed with an option to buy. People are saying that since Con Ed is partially subsidized by tax payers that Con Ed should remove themselves from the contract and not allow the cultural center to be built. Ignoring the fact that a company such as Con Ed should not be subsidized by taxpayers, if Con Ed goes against its contract, it opens itself up to a major lawsuit that would likely cost customers millions. Now, factor in the taxpayer subsidies, and it would also likely cost taxpayers millions as well.

Way to go, Conservative America. Let's go against everything America stands for to stop this cultural center. Then, the radical Muslims you fear have truly won. They have taken from us what it means to be an American and what America stands for.

There's an old country song that goes, "If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything". What you are describing is the problem with THE SYSTEM. If you are a Republicrat or a Democan you HAVE to toe the party line or else. You can't be YOURSELF, you are not you anymore, you are part and parcel to THE SYSTEM. Before long you don't even realize what has happened and you become accustomed to being a cog in the wheel and all you want to do is become a bigger damn cog!

In 1992, my mother was running for city council in West Memphis. There was a group political event there and all politicians running for office were invited to speak. This was my first encounter with Mrs. Lincoln (though at the time she was still Ms. Lambert) when she was running, and eventually won, the Arkansas First Congressional District seat.

My mother, who is staunchly anti-abortion, and I caught Ms. Lambert after her speech. My mother told Ms. Lambert that she was pro-life, and asked Ms. Lambert about her stance on abortion, which was very publicly pro-choice. Ms. Lambert grabbed my mother by the arm, pulled her in closer and looked around (to make sure no one else could hear) and told us that she was privately against abortion, but as a democrat, she had to be pro-choice. Needless to say, Ms. Lambert/Mrs. Lincoln has never received a vote from anyone in my family. If you can't stand for what you believe in, no matter what, then you don't deserve anyone's vote.

And the Republicans put perhaps the worst candidate of theirs against her. This is why I'm voting Trevor Drown, Independent, for US Senate this year.
